composer

In addition to releasing original music as a singer-songwriter, Clara also loves composing music for musical theatre and film/TV.

In 2018, she composed for her first musical “WHODUNNIT!” (written and performed by The 13th Story Productions, a company born from the Douglas/Capilano 2018/19 BPA Cohort). Clara wrote and produced the score, and was also the co-lyricist for the show.

“WHODUNNIT!” was the project that introduced her to music production and creating music through Logic Pro. Since then, she continued her education in music production and continued her work in both music production and composition.

Some additional work includes:

  • Writing and producing the original song “Sailor Boy” in 2022 for the short film of the same name by Riku Watanabe

  • Composing the score for the short film “Time Capsule” directed by Ricardo (which she also acted in) that premiered at the 2022 Run N Gun festival

  • Composing/sound designing for the 2023 RNG film “The Rose” (directed by Tristan Pina)

  • Composing/sound designing the 2024 RNG film “Good Dogs Lie” (directed by Keane Faye")

  • Her debut visual album/short film “The Woods”, which also has choral arrangements available

  • And an upcoming original musical currently in the works

standalone compositions

Clara’s standalone composition titled “Pink Moon Waltz” is the first instrumental track in her streaming catalogue, and was released on May 19th, 2023.

This piece is made up entirely of layered vocal harmonies (with one note from a singing bowl) and is reminiscent of the scores of Danny Elfman, Lord of the Rings, and early Barbie movies.

You can stream the full song here or listen to an excerpt below.

choral arrangements

Since its release in April of 2024, Clara has been working (along with her long-time collaborator and friend Jenna Marie) to create choral arrangements of the songs from “The Woods”.

The SATB arrangements available are: Lay Me Down (acapella), The Woods, Golden Boy (accompaniment by Jenna Marie), The Archer (accompaniment by Jenna Marie), and Clover (accompaniment by Jenna Marie).
